About us
Founder John Gilopidis a native of Australia has has a passion for Land Rovers with his first Rover, a 1996 Range Rover P38 which he purchased new and still currently owns. This Rover is his daily driver on his visits back to Australia.
John took an interest in Defenders while picking up his Rover from Service at Austin Rover Works in Texas. There he noticed some Defenders that were being restored. In 2017 John established Royal Overland Company located North of Austin, TX to cater to Defender enthusiasts looking for quality vehicles.
In August 2021 John decided to move on from Royal Overland and form Royal Defender Imports, LLC.

Royal Defender Imports is a small, yet capable team focusing on the sourcing and restoration of good quality, solid Defenders mainly from Australia and Europe. Our emphasis is in putting these legendary vehicles in the hands of fans here in the States.
